Beulah Viola Heckler, age 86 years a resident of Beverly, passed away Tuesday evening, March 6, 2007 at her home. She was born December 2, 1920 at St. George, a daughter of the late William Francis and Lillie Etta Davis Poling. On September 3, 1939 at Oakland, MD, she was married to Durl “Bub” Heckler who preceded her in death in 1999. Surviving are three sons, Darrell Heckler, St. George, Dorsey Heckler, East Dailey and Hilrey Heckler, Franklin, WV. One daughter, Janice Daniels, Beverly, WV, one sister Dortha Ernst of Moorefield, WV, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild also survive. Also preceding her in death were two sons, Larry and Roger Heckler, a grandson, Gary Heckler, six sisters and three brothers.
Mrs. Heckler was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1940. She was employed for many years at Grocery Stores in Ohio and worked as a Baker and Manager of the Snack Bar at the Lodge at Black Water Falls State Park.
She retired from the Tucker County Hospital as Food Service Manager. She was a Jehovah’s Witness.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 9, 2007 at the Parsons City Cemetery with John Mueller officiating. Interment will follow. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 10th at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Elkins with John Mueller officiating. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Elkins Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, c/o Paul Christianson, Rt. 3, Box 478, Elkins, WV, 26241.
